Port Macquarie Surf Forecast
Friday 15 July- Monday 18th July
2011
Swell size:
2m - 2.5m of swell throughout Saturday and Sunday and falling
dramatically into Monday.
Swell Period:
The longer period swell of 12 seconds continues to come our
way as it has done for nearly 2 weeks now. It all comes to an
end by Monday when we'll be back to 6 second wind swell. Boo
hoo.
Swell Direction:
Swell is from the South still and hitting the open beaches
more than our southern corners (Town Beach). A small east swell
moves in from Monday.
Wind direction:
Forecast is for onshore winds SE - NE winds all weekend and
rain expected too with this. I think you will find offshore
winds each morning so a small amount of joy to be had, fingers
crossed.
Tides:
Low tides: 2.30pm Sat - 3pm Sun - .30m
High tides: 9am Sat - 9.40am Sun - 1.20m
Who should surf and where:
Despite the majority of the East coast getting good to great
waves for the past 2 weeks we unfortunately have seen a slow
degradation of all sand banks in our region. Port really needs
some eastly direction in our swells for good times to continue.
Small waves will greet us all weekend in the 2-3ft range. Most
beaches need high tides to be any good so surf early each morning.
Try Town beach, Nth shore or Bonny Hills. The winds will dictate
how the weekend really pans out.
