Hatha Yoga
You will enjoy a 1 ½ hr Hatha yoga class on each day of your retreat.
Your first yoga class will be easy and relaxing and during which you will learn a simple ‘Vinyasa’. In Yoga, Vinyasa routines are flowing movements that link poses and breathing together. It is a wonderful way to build endurance, balance and strength. While at the same time creating focus, mindfulness and calming energy. You will use this Vinyasa to warm up before you surf.
Your other yoga classes will follow your morning surf. This will allow you to further develop your knowledge and practice of yoga. It will also help you to maintain a balanced, clear mind and start to really feel how the Ocean’s energy is being absorbed and affecting your entire body, mind and soul.
Hatha Yoga primarily focuses on Asana (postures) and Pranayama (controlled breathing techniques). This helps to develop strength, endurance, flexibility, balance and inner calm. Pranayama plays an integral role of Hatha Yoga; once the student learns to master the breath then the student can master and overcome their mind. Moving towards inner stillness and calm.
Soul Surfing’s yoga classes have been specifically designed to assist your surfing needs by addressing the key elements of strength, flexibility, endurance, core stability and relaxed breath control. These key elements will also assist in every aspect of your physical wellbeing.
